Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed...

Interesting quote. It can be read both ways. It is true that we are in the world to serve God and bless others. It is also true that no matter what we do, it is God's sovereignty what will or will not allow things to be done and souls to be saved. So I guess the best option for us is to watch God's work while we are working ourselves.

I now understand that its not by might nor by power bt by the spirit of God that ppl are saved, as we avail ourselves to be used as a vessels to carry Gods massage bt the ultimately results depend on Gods wills for any individual to see and hear and receive the word...also its our responsibility to be prepared in prayer and word for the challenge that lies ahead. Pray always without ceasing for the souls.
